- Shadows percussion group performed at the Canberra Multicultural Festival on Sat 8th Feb 2013. The team had a memorable trip to Canberra and a blast of a concert.
- Sep 2012: Vistit by Patron of the Laya Vidhya Centre. Maestro Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman.
Featuring a grand lec-
dem on Indian Percussion and a grand concert featuring the Maestro with vocalist Saketaraman. Shadows performed the misra chapu tala at the grand concert. - July 2012 saw all students of Laya Vidhya Centre prepae and present at the Annual concert.
- June 2012 also saw a scintillating shadows presentation at Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna’s concert, Rowville secondary college on 2nd June 2012
- June 2012 saw the legend of Indian Music M. Balamuralikrishna visit Melbourne under the auspices of InConcert Music. Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna delivered a lecture on Indian Music

- In Mar 2012, Laya Vidhya Centre received a grant from the Australian Government through the Australia Council for Arts, it’s arts funding and advisory body to run the Laya Vidhya Concert Series 2012/13.
- In Feb 2012, Laya Vidhya Centre found a new home at the Waverley Meadows Primary School to conduct group sessions.
- LVC events for 2012 started off with a bang with a concert on Australia day (26th Jan). This concert saw a large turnout..
- On 6th Jan 2012, Sridhar Chari performed a flute recital in a chamber setting in Sydney. He was accompanied by two young sydney artistes Sriram Panyam on the violin and Siva on the Mridangam.
- In Dec 2011, Sridhar Chari & Laya Vidhya Centre instituted the Umayalpuram K Sivaraman
Award at the Music Academy in Chennai. The prize of Rs. 10,000/-
to be given to the best Mridangam player in the Sub- Senior category at the Academy’s Annual December Music Festival. - In Dec 2011, Sridhar Chari was successfully nominated to receive the Multicultural Award of Excellence. The award function was held on the 14th at the Government house.
- In Dec 2011, Sridhar Chari and Surya Raviganesh (a senior student of the Laya Vidya Centre) took part in the music festival in Chennai. Sridhar Chari performed nine concerts and Surya Raviganesh performed two concerts.
- Sridhar Chari and a number of students from the Laya Vidhya Centre were in attendance at performances in Chennai by the Centre’s mentor Dr. Umayalpuram Sivaraman and had a great level of interaction with the Maestro.
- In Aug, Sep & Nov 2011, Laya Vidhya Centre conducted Student Development concert series featuring both International and Resident Artistes in Concert
- Shadows percussion group performed at the Gala Event to celebrate Indian Independence day with a function held on 13th Aug 2011.
- Laya Vidhya Annual Concert featured percussion ensembles, vocal and flute segments and featured all students of the Centre.
- Shadows percussion group performed at InConcert Music’s feature event in June. Professor Trichy Sankaran from York University was in attendance at the event.
- Laya Vidhya Students were invited to perform at annual school concerts of other schools throughout the year from April to October 2011.
